APAR Friday is back: Handing thread after cancel

I came across this APAR (PK71188) for all of you data sharing folks a few days ago. It seems that if you cancel a utility during phase 2 of a commit, you run the risk of hanging up the DB2 thread. The only solution for getting rid of the thread
